FC Barcelona have officially announced the departure of goalkeeper Inaki Pena, who has signed for Greek club Panathinaikos.
The 27-year-old La Masia graduate, who spent the last season away on loan, will leave the Blaugrana on a permanent transfer.
“FC Barcelona and Panathinaikos FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of goalkeeper Inaki Pena to the Greek club,” the club statement read.
Pena has been at Barcelona for 14 years now, having joined La Masia from the Villarreal youth academy back in 2012.
During his time at the club, he had two loan spells away at Galatasaray in the second half of the 2021/22 season and Elche during the previous campaign.
He leaves Barça after making 45 first-team appearances in which he conceded 64 goals and kept ten clean sheets.
While the statement does not mention it, Barcelona will receive a €3 million transfer fee for Pena, who had one year left on his contract. In addition, the Catalans will also retain a future sell-on percentage.
The goalkeeper will be signing a three-year contract with the Greek giants.
