Confirmed: Barcelona star wins La Liga Goal of the Month for September | OneFootball

After Hansi Flick was named the La Liga Coach of the Month for September and Raphinha was voted as the La Liga Player of the Month, FC Barcelona have seen another member of the team win an award.

Indeed, summer signing Joao Cancelo has won the La Liga Goal of the Month for September for his spectacular strike in the 7-2 win over Racing Santander last month.

In what was his first start in La Liga since returning to the club in the summer, the 32-year-old veteran, slotting in at left-back scored a screamer of a goal from the outside of the box just eight minutes into the match.

Now, that strike has been voted in as the La Liga Goal of the Month for September. The Portuguese international saw off competition from Ante Budimir of Osasuna and Lucas Boye of Alaves

Cancelo went on to score another goal during the game, but it was eventually awarded as an Asier Villalibre own goal due to a deflection from the Racing Santander.

This happens to be the second time that Cancelo has won the prize, having previously won it during the 2023/24 season, while he was on loan at Barça from Manchester City, for a brilliant strike against Real Betis, which also came in September.

So far in 2026/27, Cancelo has played 296 minutes across seven matches in all competitions, scoring and assisting one goal apiece.
