Manchester City are bidding for a second cup title of the season as they face Calum McFarlane’s Chelsea in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday.
City enter the final after back-to-back 3-0 Premier League wins over Brentford and Crystal Palace to regain momentum in the title race, having slipped up against Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium last week.
The Blues lifted the Carabao Cup at Wembley in March after beating Arsenal in the final and amid slim hopes of winning a ninth league title, Pep Guardiola and co can make it a cup double in London to give departing stars Bernardo Silva and John Stones a fitting send-off.
Rodri remained absent for City against Palace in midweek and Guardiola indicated in Friday’s press conference that a late decision will be made on the Spain international’s availability against Chelsea.

Josko Gvardiol was a surprise inclusion in the starting XI against the Eagles, making a swift return to action after suffering a tibial fracture in January that kept the 24-year-old on the sidelines for four months.
Ruben Dias has also returned to full first-team training in recent weeks to bolster a near fully-fit Manchester City side still competing on two fronts in the final week of the season.
City are contesting in the FA Cup final for the fourth consecutive season on Saturday and having lost in the previous two editions of the occasion against Manchester United and Crystal Palace in 2024 and 2025 respectively, there is a record to be set straight against Chelsea.
