Levante UD open their campaign at RCDE Stadium this evening at 19:00, with Luís Castro naming his first competitive XI.

According to Superdeporte, several new signings were not registered in time for kick-off, so Hugo Sotelo, Requena, Musuayi and Thiago Fernández miss out. Enzo Bardeli, Manu Sánchez, Aïssa Mandi and Mathew Ryan are eligible.

Despite the absences, Levante travel aiming to challenge an Espanyol side light on summer reinforcements but with ambitions under Manolo González.

Ryan starts in goal. The back four is Nacho Pérez, Dela, Aïssa Mandi and Manu Sánchez, the latter registered only hours earlier.

Oriol Rey and Olasagasti form the double pivot, with Carlos Álvarez in the No 10 role behind Iván Romero. Paco Cortés and Víctor García start out wide.
