Confirmed Man United XI vs Arsenal: Hojlund and Onana omitted from squad | OneFootball

Rasmus Hojlund and Andre Onana have been omitted from the Manchester United squad to face Arsenal this afternoon.

In a clear message to the striker that he has no future at the club, head coach Roben Amorim has not even selected the Dane as a substitute.

There is also no place in the starting line-up for Andre Onana, with Altay Bayindir being named in goal. Onana missed the whole pre-season but Amorim said he was fit but needed to earn his place. He is said to be training alone rather than being with the squad.

Defence

Joining Bayindir in defence are Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro and Luke Shaw.

Shaw’s selection ahead of Harry Maguire and Ayden Heaven will raise some eyebrows. Lisandro Martinez and Noussair Mazraoui are still out injured.

Midfield and Wing Backs

Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu are the wing backs. Casemiro is the holding midfielder, with Bruno Fernandes at number eight.

Amad was widely expected to play wing back but has to make do with a place on the bench, with Amorim favouring the more defensive-minded Diogo Dalot.

Forwards

Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount are the front three.

New signing Benjamin Sesko must make do with a spot on the bench.

Joining him are Tom Heaton, Maguire, Heaven, Tyler Fredricson, Amad, Kobbie Mainoo, Manu Ugarte and Josh Zirkzee

Kick-off at Old Trafford is at 4.30pm.
