The Premier League have now confirmed the team of match officials to oversee proceedings in Manchester City’s final game of the 2024/25 season.
Pep Guardiola and his players know what is at stake this weekend, with the scenario and requirements in order to qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League outlined for the club coming into the weekend.
Having dismissed of Bournemouth on Tuesday night at the Etihad Stadium via a 3-1 victory, Manchester City know they must avoid defeat at Craven Cottage in order to bank themselves a place in the Premier League’s top-five.
This Sunday afternoon will also mark Kevin De Bruyne’s last-ever game for Manchester City, having bid farewell to the Etihad faithful in midweek and with his chances of appearing at this summer’s FIFA Club World Cup unlikely while he weighs up his next move in the game.
On the fitness and injury front, Pep Guardiola is likely to have a full compliment at his disposal and available for selection, with the exception of John Stones who continues to recover from a longer-term issue.
Now, ahead of the meeting between Fulham and Manchester City, the English top-flight have now announced the list of match officials to oversee proceedings at Craven Cottage!
Overseeing proceedings between Fulham and Manchester City from the role of lead on-field match referee will be Andy Madley, the Premier League have confirmed on their website this week.
This will be Madley’s 27th game across all competitions this season, having officiated in the Premier League, EFL Cup, FA Cup, the Championship, and the same division’s play-off stages in the last few weeks.
Across his 26 matches thus far, the Huddersfield-born referee has handed out 97 yellow cards with two leading to dismissals, while there has also been one straight red card to his name plus four penalty-kicks awarded.
Andy Madley has been the referee in 13 Manchester City matches in his career, with nine of those contests resulting in a win for the Sky Blues, while two have ended in a draw, and a further two concluding in defeat for the club.
The 41-year-old has only taken charge of one of Pep Guardiola’s matches across all competitions this season, with that fixture coming in the Premier League and a dominant 4-0 win over Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium.
Accompanying Andy Madley at Craven Cottage this weekend will be an Assistant Referee pairing of Stuart Burt and Craig Taylor, the Premier League have announced.
Reviewing proceedings from the VAR Hub at Stockley Park this weekend will be the appointed Video Assistant Referee, John Brooks with support from his Assistant Video Assistant Referee, Tim Wood.
Standing between Marco Silva’s Fulham and Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City dugouts in West London will be the game’s appointed fourth official, Jeremy Simpson.
