Confirmed: On-loan Barcelona star suffers injury blow | OneFootball

A member of the loan army at La Liga champions Barcelona is set for an incoming spell on the sidelines.

This comes amid confirmation that Marc-André ter Stegen has picked up a muscular injury.

Goalkeeper Ter Stegen of course secured a move away from the Camp Nou last month, linking up with Catalan rivals Girona for the remainder of the term.

The German, in turn, was afforded back-to-back starts in the Blanquivermells’ last two La Liga fixtures.

In the latter, however, Ter Stegen suffered a setback on the fitness front.

En route to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Real Oviedo on Saturday, the 33-year-old picked up a hamstring injury.

As per a statement across Girona’s social media platforms on Monday:

‘Marc-André ter Stegen has a left hamstring injury sustained during Saturday’s match against Oviedo. The player will undergo additional medical tests to finalize the diagnosis and establish the prognosis.’
