Conmebol and UEFA set to decide Finalissima venue on Saturday | OneFootball

Conmebol and UEFA are set to choose a new host for Argentina v Spain’s Finalissima after Qatar was dropped because of the war in the Middle East, according to SuperDepor.com.

A decision had been expected on Friday, but the two bodies opted to pause discussions and plan to confirm the venue on Saturday.

Rome’s Stadio Olimpico, Wembley in London and Lisbon’s Estádio da Luz are in contention.

Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu has been ruled out, after UEFA initially proposed it without consulting Conmebol or the AFA. River Plate’s Más Monumental is also off the table.

The replacement venue will be selected from the remaining shortlist once talks resume.
