Conmebol approves Recoleta request to move Santos Sudamericana tie to Estádio Río Parapití | OneFootball

Conmebol has approved Recoleta's request to move their Copa Sudamericana group match against Santos to Estádio Río Parapití. The date remains Tuesday five May.

Diario Do Peixe reports that the fixture, originally scheduled for Defensores del Chaco in Asunción, will now be played in Pedro Juan Caballero on the Brazilian border, kicking off at 21.30.

Cuca's side are bottom of Group D on one point after a 1-0 defeat to Deportivo Cuenca and a draw with Recoleta. San Lorenzo lead on four points, with Cuenca on three and Recoleta on two.

It marks the Alvinegro's return to continental competition after three years. In 2023 they went out in the group stage, and the trophy remains elusive.

Santos face San Lorenzo next in the group. In this phase each team plays one home and one away match against every other side in their group. Group winners advance directly to the last 16, while runners-up enter a play-off round for a place in the last 16.
