Conmebol draws Sudamericana last-16 path as Santos face UCV in July play-off

Conmebol has drawn the Copa Sudamericana last-16 path, with Santos to face Universidad Central de Venezuela in the play-offs on 21 or 22 and 27 or 28 July, according to Diario Do Peixe.
If they progress, the Alvinegro will meet Maracá of Ecuador in the last 16. Santos play the first leg in Venezuela and decide the tie at Vila Belmiro.
Other ties feature winner of Boca Juniors or O’Higgins v Recoleta, winner of Sporting Cristal or Bragantino v Atlético-MG, winner of Lanús or Cienciano v Botafogo, winner of Vasco or Independiente Medellín v Olimpia, winner of Santa Fe or Caracas v River Plate, winner of Nacional or Tigre v City Torque, and winner of Bolivar or Grêmio v São Paulo.
Santos finished runners-up in Group D with seven points, so must come through a play-off. It was the weakest return among second-placed sides, one win, four draws and one defeat, with eight scored and six conceded. Recoleta topped the section on eight points, with San Lorenzo on seven and Deportivo Cuenca on six.
UCV ended third in Copa Libertadores Group H on nine points, three wins and three losses, scoring seven and conceding 11. They trailed Rosario Central and Independente Del Vale, both on 13 points, and left Libertad on zero.
A traditional club founded in 1950 in Caracas, UCV play at the Estádio Olímpico, which holds 20,000.
