Conor Chaplin is in contention to make his Leicester City debut against Burton Albion on Saturday, with Russell Martin weighing up whether to involve him.
According to LeicesterMercury.co.uk, the 29-year-old missed the first two games with a minor knock after joining last month on a three-year deal from Ipswich Town.
Chaplin has trained well this week and is back with the group. Martin said staff will decide whether he takes a big session to be ready for Tuesday or is named on the bench.
He admitted he would be tempted to play him immediately, but will listen to performance staff and the player before making a call in the coming hours. The manager also praised Chaplin’s energy and leadership in training.
Chaplin watched the 1-1 draw at Notts County at Meadow Lane last weekend. A return could be held until next week if caution is preferred.
There are no new concerns before Burton’s visit. Jayden Joseph took an early whack at Notts County, yet completed 90 minutes and scored his first Leicester goal, and he has trained and is fine, with a final assessment planned.
