Chelsea have reportedly made contact to sign a striker who could end up costing them £44m to sign, but they have competition.
Both Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa have been named on the report as being two other English clubs keen on this same striker.
We are talking about Bologna striker Santiago Castro, who is becoming more and more talked about in the footballing world after some decent form over the last couple of seasons.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Football365, Chelsea have sent scouts to watch Bologna centre-forward Santiago Castro ahead of the upcoming January transfer window.
It’s not just scouting though apparently, Chelsea have reportedly already made contact with the Bologna star’s representatives to discuss a possible deal, in hope of laying the groundwork for a move to be officially completed in January.
However, the report also goes on to say that the Serie A side want a fee of up to £44m for Castro, so we aren’t sure that Chelsea would pay that much for him.

Liam Delap nurses his injured shoulder.
Current number 9 Liam Delap is certainly struggling right now and may benefit from a loan move away for the rest of the season. He’s had injuries this season but also his form has just been far from good enough and he needs to step up.
Enzo Maresca was asked about his team’s ability to hold onto leads, and whether the lack of experience in his group was potentially a problem in that regard.
Our Under-18s are flying right now, and that’s in large part down to their great coach, Hassan Sulaiman. He spoke to the club’s website about the season so far.
