Manchester United are in ongoing talks with Atalanta regarding a potential deal for Ederson.

He will be leaving Wolverhampton Wanderers in the coming months following their relegation from the top flight, and now looks to be Madrid-bound after they worked to get all terms agreed as swiftly as possible.

United have mulled over both Ederson and Gomes

The Spaniards abandoning their pursuit of Ederson then paved the way for United to get involved, hence making their approach in recent weeks.

It remains to be seen if the move will materialise, as INEOS are scouting a number of midfielders in the lead-up to the window opening next month.

Jason Wilcox and Co. have, over the last year, prioritised the addition of Premier League-proven stars, with both Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha proving to be hugely beneficial signings, so it is perhaps a surprise that the transfer chiefs are favouring Ederson over Gomes.
