Antonio Conte, Napoli captain Giovanni Di Lorenzo and club President Aurelio De Laurentiis were all in attendance to pay tribute to the late, great Diego Maradona, who sadly died four years ago today.

The Argentine played more matches for Napoli than for any other club in his career, scoring 81 goals from 181 league appearances across a six-year spell. The Partenopei won the Scudetto twice with Maradona, once in 1986-87 and again in 1989-90, as well as a Coppa Italia, Supercoppa Italiana and UEFA Cup title.

It took Napoli over 30 years to win their next league title after Maradona’s departure, which came under Luciano Spalletti’s reign in 2022-23.

Napoli currently lead the way in Serie A in 2024-25, leading all of Atalanta, Fiorentina, Inter and Lazio by one-point, and Juventus by two.
