Contract negotiations for Kane: Bayern wants clarity soon

Following England’s bitter elimination in the World Cup semifinals, Harry Kane will soon turn his focus back to FC Bayern. Talks about a contract extension are imminent at Säbener Straße—and the Munich club apparently has strong arguments to bring to the contract negotiations.

For Harry Kane, the dream of a World Cup title ended prematurely. After returning from the U.S., however, the England national team captain is likely to quickly shift his focus back to club life. At FC Bayern, the striker’s contract runs only until the summer of 2027, which is why club officials want to clarify the situation soon.

The Munich club wants to keep the 32-year-old at the club long-term and intensify talks about an extension after the World Cup, as reported by BILD’s soccer editor Christian Falk.

Bayern Can Score Points with the Champions League

According to Falk, the German record champions hold a decisive trump card in their pursuit of Kane: “Kane knows he has a great chance to win the Champions League if he stays at FC Bayern,” explains the transfer expert.

Kane is regularly linked to other top clubs, however. Rumors of a return to the Premier League or a possible move to Saudi Arabia or Real Madrid surface time and again. Falk, however, currently sees no more attractive sporting prospects. “Maybe they’ll be good enough next year under new coach José Mourinho, but they don’t know that,” he emphasizes, referring to Real Madrid.

A departure from Munich is considered unlikely

Falk also considers a return to Tottenham to be unlikely at this time. After a difficult season, the Spurs are facing a rebuild and are not competing internationally. “Harry wants to win the Champions League now. He can’t wait for the Spurs to rebuild themselves. He wants the big title.”

In addition to the on-field arguments, his personal life also points toward him staying. According to consistent reports, Kane and his family feel extremely at home in Munich. Accordingly, a contract extension is currently considered the most likely scenario.

It comes as little surprise that Bayern are determined to keep their star striker. Since his move to Munich, Kane has scored an impressive 146 goals in 147 competitive matches and has long since become one of the record champions’ most important players. Consequently, club officials want to prevent the Englishman from entering the final year of his contract without his future being settled.
