The contract talks between FC Bayern and Konrad Laimer remain complicated. While the Bavarians continue to be tough on the Austrian’s salary demands, a new name has emerged as a possible candidate for the right side of defense: Tino Livramento

It’s no longer a secret that Bayern want to work on the squad in the summer, with many managers seeing potential for improvement on the flanks in particular – especially after the bitter Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain

Now the portal Fichajes has brought a new name into play: Tino Livramento from Newcastle United is said to be on the German record champions‘ list

The 23-year-old Englishman is considered one of the most exciting right-backs in the Premier League. Livramento only moved to Newcastle from Southampton FC for around €37 million in 2023, where he still has a contract until 2028

However, a transfer would by no means be cheap: according to the report, the Magpies are demanding at least 70 million pounds – the equivalent of around 80 million euros – for the England international

Particularly explosive: two other European heavyweights, Manchester City and FC Arsenal, are said to be involved in the poker game. According to fichajes.com, City have already prepared an offer of 75 million euros

Livramento as a possible Laimer alternative?

The name Livramento has emerged against the backdrop of the faltering talks with Konrad Laimer. Negotiations over an extension to the Austrian’s contract have been dragging on for weeks. The financial aspects in particular are causing internal discussions. According to media reports, Laimer is demanding an annual salary of between twelve and 15 million euros

Uli Hoeneß recently made a public statement on the matter, using unusually clear words: „Konny is a player I hold in high esteem, but he’s not Maradona,“ the honorary president explained on DAZN

Livramento would certainly fit the profile they are looking for. The Englishman is considered to be extremely dynamic, technically strong and flexible. In addition to the right side of defence, he can also defend on the left or even play more offensively

However, his injury history certainly raises questions, with Livramento only making 17 Premier League appearances this season due to several knee and thigh problems

Whether Bayern would actually be prepared to invest a transfer fee of this magnitude therefore remains to be seen – especially as Munich’s focus in the summer should clearly remain on the offensive.
