Alejandro Garnacho was only on the pitch for 45 minutes for Chelsea last night, but he really made the difference.

After a first period where the Blues couldn’t really hurt Cardiff, who were controlling the ball well, Garnacho’s drive and running made the game far more open and got his teammates further up the pitch into dangerous positions.

It was fitting, after that impact, that the Argentine got the opening goal and the 3-1 killer. He spoke to Chelsea’s official website after the game about his goal and his celebration of sitting on the advertising hoardings, which he did again today.

Alejandro Garnacho sits on an advertising board to celebrate.

“It was good to do my celebration with the fans. It is funny because whenever I do it, one team-mate does it with me and it is funny,” Garnacho said when asked about the distinctive action.

“I am really happy to be a part of this club. We have a really good group and a really good team so we can try to win something this season. The fans always help us when we play away and in games like this so we are really happy [with the win].”

Garnacho continues to impress with his contributions, and should now be locked in as first choice left winger for the foreseeable future. We hope to see this celebration far more often.

Marc Cucurella has been brutally run into the ground by a punishing schedule for Chelsea and Italy, and the stats are out now which show just how crazy his run has been.

One first team player who was left in the mix was Moises Caicedo, who formed a fearsome combination with Andrey Santos ahead of the back line which kept Cardiff locked out.
