Valencia have travelled to Girona to start their first pre-season camp at the Royalverd complex, with Carlos Corberán calling up nine academy players. According to Superdeporte, the youngsters are goalkeepers Vicent Abril and Alain, centre-backs Iker Córdoba, Wanjala and Rubo, right winger Gamón, midfielder Mayol, winger Otorbi and striker Mario Domínguez.
This begins the second phase of pre-season at the same venue as last summer. Corberán also has four completed signings on the trip, Guido Rodríguez, Aliou Dieng, Justin de Haas and Ryunosuke Sato, together with Stole Dimitrievski's renewal.
The camp starts without Baptiste Santamaría and Cenk Özkacar. Santamaría is already in Thessaloniki to sign for PAOK. Özkacar, who accepts he is not in the manager's plans, will remain at Paterna while a mutually beneficial solution is sought.
Although Dani Raba is not in Corberán's plans, he is part of the travelling party. Javi Guerra is also available after joining later with permission following his involvement with Spain's pre-World Cup training as a support player.
Valencia set up in Girona under Corberán as preparations intensify into phase two of the summer schedule.
