Pre-season friendlies have confirmed last spring’s verdict. Arnaut Danjuma is not in Carlos Corberán’s plans at Valencia.
According to Superdeporte, the message from Valencia is clear, he needs to find a new club.
Corberán underlined the hierarchy against Castellón, favouring academy players and placing Danjuma down the rotation.
Valencia took a permanent punt last summer after previous moves away from Villarreal had fizzled out after bright starts. The pattern repeated and he disappeared from the picture throughout the second half of the season.
The wing remains a priority area, alongside full-back, yet reviving Danjuma’s best version does not appear in the head coach’s plan. He would prefer two signings.
On the flanks, aside from Luis Rioja, the pecking order runs through Ryunosuke Sato on the left to free the full-back and create central overloads, then David Otorbi, or André Almeida shifted wide. All currently sit ahead of Danjuma.
His departure is not straightforward. His wages do not match his level and Valencia presumably will have to take a loss again on a player they signed on a free, while finding a club ready to cover his salary and persuading him to leave Mestalla.
