Corinne Diacre, head coach of OM’s women, has been targeted by graffiti in Marseille’s Belsunce district following Saturday’s 1-2 Première Ligue defeat to Montpellier and her decision to sideline the team’s former captain. According to La Provence, the tags appeared near the Canebière.
Messages urged Diacre to leave, referenced the city’s identity and insisted team leaders deserve respect.
The player omitted was Algerian international defender Roselène Khezami, last season’s captain. She later expressed her displeasure on social media, noting she had been left out for a game she had awaited all her life.
On their first appearance at the Vélodrome, Marseille were beaten and remain four points from the relegation zone, ninth on 16 points, with three matches left.
Diacre, appointed in October, is now facing criticism from OM supporters.
