Corinthians’ absentees and suspensions for São Bernardo clash

Corinthians visits São Bernardo FC at the Primeiro de Maio Stadium this Sunday night (15th) at 8:30 PM (Brasília time), in a match valid for the eighth and final round of the first phase of the 2026 Paulista Championship. At the moment, the Alvinegro occupies the fifth position on the overall table with 11 points (three wins, two draws, and two losses – nine goals scored and six conceded).

For the match, the Corinthians technical staff is expected to deal with the absences of the following players: left-back Hugo Farias (knee surgery), midfielders André Luiz (ankle ligament injury) and José Martínez (negotiating termination), midfielders Matheus Pereira (suspended for the third yellow card) and Breno Bidon (muscle injury), as well as forward Kaio César (recovering from a thigh muscle injury).

In addition, defender Cacá, who has been speculated in Serie A clubs like Vitória and Santos, might be left out of the squad list. Corinthians will also need to pay attention to the situation of technical staff members and players who are one yellow card away from suspension. If they receive a third yellow card, they might miss the quarter-final match of the state championship – if Alvinegro qualifies.

These include: coach Dorival Júnior, midfielder André Carrillo, and forward Yuri Alberto. Midfielder André and midfielder Breno Bidon also have two yellow cards, but as mentioned, will be absent from the match due to injuries. A win and a draw will qualify the Corinthians team for the knockout stage. In case of a loss, they will have to hope for a combination of results to avoid being eliminated in the first phase.
