Corinthians’ André Ramalho put in chokehold during friendly against Cascavel | OneFootball

Corinthians defender André Ramalho was placed in a chokehold during a feisty moment in Sunday’s friendly against Cascavel.

The incident came at 32 minutes of the first half as Cascavel launched a quick counter. According to Globo.com, Ramalho stepped out to contest a ball in midfield and sent Ian Barreto to the turf.

As Barreto tried to rise, Ramalho pulled him back. Barreto responded by grabbing the Corinthians defender by the neck and throwing him down.

Yuri Alberto arrived to separate the pair, and the referee initially allowed play to continue with Cascavel attacking. He then halted the match after spotting the scuffle involving players from both sides across the pitch.

Both André Ramalho and Ian Barreto were shown yellow cards.
