Corinthians begin build-up for Portuguesa quarter-final, Bidon and Angileri in contention | OneFootball

Corinthians returned to training on Friday morning after beating Athletico-PR, beginning preparations for the quarter-final against Portuguesa at Canindé on Sunday at 20:30. According to Meu Timao, the session set the tone for a decisive week.

As is routine after matches, players who logged more than 45 minutes stayed inside the CT Dr. Joaquim Grava for recovery work. The rest started with activation exercises in the gym.

The group then moved to the pitch for a warm-up before Dorival Júnior led an initial tactical drill focused on Portuguesa. Training finished with small-sided games, and the final workout is scheduled for Saturday afternoon.

Midfielder Breno Bidon could be available, having recovered from a strain in his left hamstring that ruled him out of the last two fixtures.

Left-back Fabrizio Angileri is another possible option, which would be his first appearance of the season. He has trained with the squad since the start of the month after a reconditioning spell following about a month without playing before sealing his return to Timão.

There are confirmed absences. Full-back Hugo Farias underwent meniscal repair for a bucket-handle tear in his lateral meniscus, with an estimated return of four to six months. Forward Kaio César remains in physical transition after a right thigh muscle injury, and Yuri Alberto is still recovering from a grade 2 injury to the left biceps femoris.

Midfielder Matheus Pereira, who came off with pain against Athletico, has not had his status updated by the club, leaving him a doubt.
