Corinthians’ Brabinhas discover group rivals in Women’s Copinha

On the evening of this Tuesday, the 7th, the Corinthians Under-20 team learned their opponents in the group stage of the third edition of the São Paulo Women's Football Cup, organized by the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF) and to be held from December 3 to 20. It is worth noting that the team is seeking their first title in this youth competition.

The club from Parque São Jorge is part of group A, called Pau-Brasil, and the team led by coach Bia Vaz will face Criciúma, champion of the Santa Catarina Under-20 Cup, Aliança-GO, champion of the Goiano Under-20 Championship, and Flamengo, champion of the Carioca Under-20 Championship. It is important to highlight that all matches in this group will be held at the Centro Esportivo, Recreativo e Educativo do Trabalhador (CERET) in Tatuapé.

The competition's regulations provide for 20 teams divided into five groups, with four in each. The quarter-finals are composed of the first-place teams from each group and the three best second-place teams. In the first edition of the Copinha, held in 2023, Corinthians did not advance past the first stage. Last year, in the second edition, the team reached the knockout stage but was stopped in the quarter-finals.

The tournament will be the last commitment for the Brabinhas this season and also represents the last chance for a title in 2025. In the Brazilian Championship, the team was eliminated by Flamengo in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, in the Paulista Championship, the Alvinegro is still competing for the title and will face Palmeiras in the quarter-finals.
