Ana Vitória returned for Corinthians in Monday’s Brasileirão Feminino win over São Paulo, ending a month in concussion protocol.
According to Meu Timao, head coach Emily Lima said the club managed a long, unfamiliar process with detailed care, reintroducing her gradually in training, which informed the decision to start her.
The midfielder sustained a head knock in April while training with Brazil during the Fifa Series, colliding with a team-mate, then followed concussion protocol and missed national-team commitments.
On her return to the club she stayed under medical supervision and did not feature in the league wins over Juventude, Ferroviária and Grêmio, or in Friday’s Campeonato Paulista defeat to São Paulo.
Lima added that she was medically cleared and matched the minutes they had anticipated, and within that she did well. She pointed to Vitória’s forward passing, ball circulation and ability to steady the game.
Her comeback gives another midfield option alongside Dayana Rodríguez, Duda Sampaio and Paola Garcia. The staff still await defenders Agustina Barroso and Thaís Ferreira, and midfielder Juliana Passari, who remain in physical transition.
Corinthians visit Red Bull Bragantino on Thursday in the second round of the Campeonato Paulista at Estádio Benito Agnelo Castellano, Rio Claro, with kick-off at 17:30.
