A June 2026 inspection of Estádio Alfredo Schürig, the Fazendinha, has urged the complete demolition of the West Stand after identifying critical structural risks. Without that stand, the stadium’s capacity is 9,873.
According to Meu Timao, the 159-page report by engineer Osmar Meireles dos Santos was filed with the Federação Paulista de Futebol after site visits from 15 to 18 June.
The West Stand has been shut since 2018, when the FPF and the São Paulo Military Police judged it unsafe. The report says it must not be used for any purpose and should be demolished.
Findings included exposed reinforcement with insufficient cover, corrosion, cracks from water ingress and movement, carbonation and degraded materials, plus damaged joints and bearings and excessive deformation in the terracing, all deemed risks to safety and serviceability.
Elsewhere, the North, South and East stands showed no significant structural problems. Electrical systems were met with restrictions, with modernisation advised, though no immediate danger was found.
From May 2025 to March 2026 the stadium was barred from night matches over lighting faults, moving some Brabas fixtures. The club then replaced wiring and installed new floodlights via its Department of Patrimony and Works, investing more than R$ 400,000 after quotes above R$ 2 million.
The pitch was refurbished in late May and early June. Built on 22 July 1928, the Fazendinha now stages youth and women’s matches. The publication sought club comment on next steps for the West Stand but had not received a reply.
