Corinthians’ Deliberative Council president Romeu Tuma Junior has asked Cori chief Miguel Marques e Silva to call an extraordinary meeting on the club’s stalled statute reform. According to Meu Timao, the request was made by formal letter.

The move follows court actions for and against a General Assembly that had been set for 20 June, then halted by a São Paulo Court of Justice, TJ-SP, injunction.

Tuma cited a plea from the Statutory Reform Commission for an amicable solution and urged institutional dialogue involving all branches of club governance.

He said the aim is an understanding that preserves, even minimally, decisions already approved by the council in April and May. He also called an amicable route necessary amid appeals for judicial intervention in the executive and oversight bodies.

Marques e Silva confirmed receipt and said he is still weighing with colleagues whether to accept the request.

Earlier council approvals for the reform include Fiel Torcedor voting from 2026, a two-round presidential ballot, the council cut to 200 members with 150 elected, a three-year voting qualification, an Ethics Council elected by General Assembly, and quarterly financial statements, plus a transitional rule permitting the current president’s re-election.
