Corinthians defender blasts ref after Inter draw: "Ruined the game"

On the evening of Wednesday, October 1st, Corinthians returned to the field for the Brazilian Championship. In a match valid for the 26th round of the competition, the Alvinegro went to the Beira-Rio Stadium, in Porto Alegre, to face Internacional, and drew 1 x 1, due to a penalty goal suffered in the last minute after Gui Negão opened the scoring in the first half.

After the match, defender Gustavo Henrique spoke to the press, on his way off the field, and lamented the way the result happened, stating that the refereeing directly interfered with the outcome: “We came with an intention, we played a great game. Everyone gave their all, but the referee ruined the game.”

He continued on the subject. “It's disheartening, given the game we played. We managed to control the game from start to finish, we played a beautiful defensive game. I don't like to talk about refereeing, but what happened here was sad. In that play, Bruno (Henrique) was already throwing himself, the time had already run out. Man, it's too frustrating”, he said.

After facing Internacional, away from home, for the Brasileirão, Corinthians remains focused on the national competition. On the next October 4th, at 9pm (Brasília time), Alvinegro will host Mirassol, at Neo Química Arena, for the 27th round of the Brazilian Championship.
