Corinthians discover 2026 Paulista semi-final opponents

Corinthians faced Portuguesa on the evening of this Sunday (22), at Canindé Stadium, in a match valid for the quarterfinals of the 2026 Paulista Championship, and advanced to the semifinals on penalties by winning 8 x 7 after a 1 x 1 draw. Hugo Souza was decisive by saving two penalty kicks, and Vitinho tied the match in the final moments.

In the semifinals, Corinthians will now face Novorizontino. The match between the teams will be held at the Jorge Ismael de Biasi Stadium, as the opponent had a superior campaign throughout the competition, accumulating 19 points so far. The Alvinegro, on the other hand, had the fourth-best campaign among the semifinalists with 15 points.

The base date for the clash is March 1st. It is worth noting that Novorizontino defeated Santos this Sunday afternoon in Novorizontino by a score of 2 x 1. The details of the confrontation should be defined soon by the Paulista Football Federation (FPF). Palmeiras and São Paulo will play the other state semifinal.

After eliminating Portuguesa at Canindé on penalties in the quarterfinals of the Paulista Championship, Corinthians shifts focus to the Brasileirão. Next Wednesday (25), at 8 PM (Brasília time), the Alvinegro will face Cruzeiro at Mineirão, in a match valid for the fourth round of the national competition.
