Corinthians beat Gotham FC 1-0 on Wednesday morning in the Copa das Campeãs da Fifa semi-final, pulling ahead in their record against US sides.

Meu Timao highlights Corinthians’ growing record against US opposition. Across four meetings they have two wins, one draw and one defeat, with three goals scored and two conceded.

Their first match against a US team was a goalless friendly with Penn State Nittany Lions at Parque Ecológico do Tietê, the NCAA college side.

In July last year at the Teal Rising Cup, they beat Chicago Stars 1-0 in the semi-final at CPKC Stadium in Kansas City, with Letícia Teles scoring.

The final at the same venue brought a 2-1 defeat to Kansas City Current, with Michelle Cooper and Mary Long on target for the hosts and Gabi Zanotti replying for Corinthians.

Corinthians now turn to European opposition, facing Arsenal in Sunday’s Copa das Campeãs final at Emirates Stadium at 15:00.
