Corinthians' Ethics and Discipline Committee has opened an internal case into ex-president Andrés Sanchez over alleged personal use of the club corporate card, after Deliberative Council president Romeu Tuma Júnior sent a Justice Commission report and urged speed with full defence guaranteed.
ge.globo first reported the referral. Possible sanctions include a warning, suspension or expulsion under article 25, with appeals to the council plenary.
Tuma said the report found Sanchez used the card for personal outgoings during 2018 to 2020, labelled the conduct irregular management, and urged reimbursement, tighter rules and new controls.
He ordered the executive board led by president Osmar Stabile to list within 10 days which expenses were unrelated to club business, and demanded Sanchez repay them.
The Statute lacks specific rules for corporate cards, but the Justice Commission said that does not justify personal spending. It called the conduct irregular and reckless management, opening the door to penalties under article 28.
Tuma also removed Sanchez from his council seat while the case is assessed, though he had already stepped away from the CD and Cori in October 2025 after being denounced by the Public Prosecutor's Office.
The committee, chaired by Leonardo Pantaleão, has formalised proceedings, appointed him rapporteur and will notify Sanchez, who is expected to respond within up to 10 days.
Separately, prosecutors have charged Sanchez and Roberto Gavioli, alleging more than 200 irregular expenses in 31 invoices from 2018 to 2021 and seeking about R$ 480 thousand plus 75%, roughly R$ 1.1 million.
