According to Meu Timao, Corinthians’ Ethics and Discipline Commission will question former president Andrés Sanchez by videolink on Monday over about 50 atypical corporate card expenses from 2018 to 2020, totalling more than R$ 180,000.
Gaviões da Fiel said it is tracking the case and, if irregularities are proven, will seek Sanchez’s expulsion from the club’s membership.
The hearing is virtual because São Paulo’s Public Prosecutor has barred him from Parque São Jorge. The commission reviewed full statements after receiving files from prosecutors, since the current finance department did not supply them.
In February, commission president Leonardo Pantaleão set the procedure once invoices were added to the file. Sanchez must justify the spending and present any reimbursements, and may propose evidence and witnesses. After instruction, Pantaleão will send his opinion to the Deliberative Council, chaired by Romeu Tuma Júnior, for a vote on penalties from warning or suspension to expulsion.
The Public Prosecutor opened a wider probe in August 2025 into spending under Sanchez and Duilio Monteiro Alves, later also looking at Augusto Melo. Last week, a São Paulo court rejected a second complaint alleging money laundering and tax crimes against Sanchez and former finance chief Roberto Gavioli for lack of cause, leaving only a possible misappropriation inquiry. The prosecutor visited Parque São Jorge on Thursday to collect remaining documents.
