Corinthians are refurbishing the pitch at Estádio Alfredo Schürig, the Fazendinha, through late May and the first week of June, with completion projected around mid June and a return for matches in the second half of the month.
The club said in a statement that the maintenance aims to improve playing conditions at Parque São Jorge, adding that cooler temperatures and winter seeding were chosen to support recovery while the summer grass lies dormant.
Earlier this month, the under-20 derby match report criticised the surface, noting poor conditions along the assistant referee’s touchline because of mud.
Works are split into four stages, soil decompaction, cutting, replanting and seeding, and involve about 20 staff. The pitch is expected to be released after around 20 days.
The women’s side consequently moved Monday’s 4-1 win over Mixto to Canindé, home of Portuguesa. Youth teams also use the ground, so at least seven further fixtures will be relocated during the works.
Corinthians recently completed upgrades to the stadium’s lighting. The venue had been barred by the São Paulo Football Federation from night games between May 2025 and March 2026 following structural issues with the floodlights.
