Augusto Melo was expelled from Corinthians on Monday after the club's Deliberative Council voted to remove him from the membership.

According to Meu Timao, the motion passed by 147 votes to five.

Separately, the impeachment process against current president Osmar Stabile moved a step forward within the club's internal bodies at Parque São Jorge.

Defender Félix Torres, contracted to Corinthians and currently on loan at Internacional, received a call-up to Ecuador's squad for this year's World Cup.

It capped a busy Monday for the club and its supporters.
