Corinthians eye striker from English football

Corinthians remains active in the market searching for wingers, a demand made by Dorival Júnior since the 2025 season. So far, Kaio César has already been signed for this role, but the scouting department, together with football executive Marcelo Paz, continues to evaluate new names.

The name currently being monitored most closely is that of the young winger Gustavo Nunes, 20 years old, currently at Brentford, England. Signed for 12 million euros in mid-2024 after leaving Grêmio in search of his first European experience, the player has had few opportunities in English football: he has played only seven matches so far, two for the under-21 team and five for the professional team.

The initial information about the monitoring was reported by ESPN and confirmed by the Central do Timão team, who also found that any potential deal would only be possible through a loan. Corinthians does not intend to invest in the purchase of economic rights at this time, prioritizing deals with no cost or with a financial impact considered low for its coffers.

Another name recently monitored by Timão is the forward Vitinho, formerly of São Paulo, who currently belongs to Tijuana, Mexico. With characteristics of speed and depth, the player could also arrive on loan, in a negotiation considered simpler and less costly for the coffers of the Alvinegro from Parque São Jorge.

So far this season, Corinthians has officially announced two signings: Gabriel Paulista and Matheus Pereira. In addition, the club has advanced agreements with Kaio César, who is expected to arrive in Brazil this Tuesday, and Pedro Milans, who landed in the country last week and is awaiting the completion of bureaucratic procedures to be announced.
