Corinthians face Palmeiras away in Supercopa Feminina final

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) decided this Friday (16th) that Corinthians will play as the away team in the final of the Women’s Supercopa do Brasil against Palmeiras. This condition was established through a draw held by the entity.

According to a statement released by the alvinegro club, the decisive Derby will be played at Arena Barueri, the stadium that Palmeiras uses as their home ground for women’s team matches. The final will be a single match, scheduled for February 7th, with the time yet to be officially announced by the CBF.

The draw took place at the confederation’s headquarters and was not broadcast. This alternative was adopted to ensure the final remained in São Paulo, after the possibility of holding the match in Manaus was ruled out. Palmeiras president Leila Pereira reportedly opposed holding the game in the Amazonian capital, a location that would have allowed both fan bases to attend.

With Palmeiras as the home team, Arena Barueri will only receive supporters of the home side. Since 2016, a recommendation from the São Paulo Public Prosecutor’s Office (MP-SP), followed by the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF), has mandated single-fan attendance at derbies held in the state.

The 2026 edition of the Women’s Supercopa marks a change in the competition’s format. Unlike previous years, which featured eight teams in a knockout system, the tournament will now be contested in a single match between the champion of the Brazilian Women’s Championship, Corinthians, and the winner of the Women’s Copa do Brasil, Palmeiras. After winning the title in 2022, 2023, and 2024, Timão finished as runners-up in 2025, after being defeated by São Paulo.

Before the first Derby of the season, the Brabas will have an international commitment. The team led by Lucas Piccinato will travel to England to compete in the FIFA Women’s Champions Cup. Their debut will be on January 28th, against Gotham FC from the United States, in London, England. The final and the third-place match are scheduled for February 1st.
