Corinthians fans favour Jesse Lingard renewal for 2027 | OneFootball

Corinthians supporters want Jesse Lingard to stay beyond this year, with the English midfielder now free to sign a pre-contract elsewhere as he enters the final six months of his deal.

According to Meu Timao, a poll showed 90.6% backing a renewal and 9.4% against. Lingard arrived in early March on a free after leaving FC Seoul at the end of 2025, brought in to add creativity when Rodrigo Garro was the only option in that role.

After three months without action he underwent conditioning, debuting in April against Fluminense. He has played 17 games, scoring two goals, against Barra in the Copa do Brasil and Peñarol in the Libertadores group stage.

He recently missed almost a week of training after being allowed to travel to England for his grandfather’s funeral. The No 77 resumed group work on Monday and trained individually on Sunday while team-mates rested.

He is aiming to regain sharpness to be available for Corinthians’ first fixture after the World Cup pause, against Cascavel on Sunday at 16:00 at Estádio Olímpico Regional Jacy Miguel Scanagatta in Paraná. The team then play Remo in the Brasileirão on 23 at the Neo Química Arena.
