Corinthians have fined midfielder André 10% of his registered salary after an obscene gesture that led to his first half dismissal in Sunday’s derby against Palmeiras.

According to Globo.com, club directors also met the player before confirming the sanction, which follows established internal guidelines.

Earlier in April, Allan received the same penalty after grabbing his genitals and pointing them at a Fluminense opponent at the Maracanã.

With the punishment issued, the club considers the case closed. André is seen internally as talented and responsible, with no record of unsporting conduct during his academy years.

The midfielder is available for Wednesday’s Conmebol Libertadores group match against Independiente Santa Fé at Neo Química Arena. Kick-off is 21:30 Brasília time.
