Corinthians full-back Hugo Farias undergoes knee surgery and thanks fans for support | OneFootball

Hugo Farias has undergone surgery on the lateral meniscus in his right knee after being injured in the 3-0 win over Capivariano on 5 February. The player said in a post that the procedure went well and he thanked supporters for their messages.

He started that match, but before the interval challenged Mike for the ball on the left flank and his leg stuck in the turf. Farias left in pain and was replaced by Matheus Bidu on 40 minutes.

Days later, the injury and the need for surgery were confirmed.

Wearing the number 46, he had been the back-up left-back. With him sidelined, Matheus Bidu is the only specialist in the role while the club are negotiating the return of Fabrizio Angileri.

Also in the treatment room are Kaio César, recovering from a right hamstring injury, and midfielder José Martínez, who has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and is likely to miss the rest of the season.

Hugo joined Corinthians at the start of 2024 from Goiás. He has made 75 appearances, 62 as a starter, with 32 wins, 20 draws and 23 defeats, plus six assists. He was part of the squads that won the Campeonato Paulista and Copa do Brasil in 2025, and the Supercopa do Brasil in 2026.

Corinthians return to action on Thursday at 20:00, hosting Red Bull Bragantino at Neo Química Arena in the third round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
