Corinthians give update on injured duo after draw in Women’s Copinha

Corinthians drew against Flamengo in the second round of the first stage of the Women's Copinha. Despite earning a point, the Brabinhas finished the 90 minutes with two players sidelined due to injury. Gabi Pires and Dany Pereira had to leave the field as they were physically unable to continue.

“Gabi Pires suffered an ankle sprain, and Dany Pereira took a blow to her left rib. Both were taken to the hospital for X-rays, but are in stable condition“, the club stated.

Curiously, Dany Pereira entered the game due to the injury suffered by the first player. Gabi Pires attempted a tackle at the edge of the penalty area before Flamengo’s first goal in the 22nd minute, but twisted her ankle and had to leave the field. Her substitute, minutes later, collided with the Corinthians goalkeeper and was stretchered off, spending about five minutes on the pitch.

With these injuries, the duo is now doubtful for the Brabinhas’ next match. Corinthians faces Aliança this Wednesday (10th), in the third round of the Women's Copinha. The match will take place at the Ceret field, where the group is based, at 5 p.m. (Brasília time).
