Murillo, the former Corinthians centre-back now at Nottingham Forest, produced one of the weekend’s standout Premier League moments with a superb recovery block against Arsenal.

The incident followed a heavy touch high up the pitch, which allowed Arsenal to counter. According to Meu Timao, he chased back from behind the forward, overhauled him and slid to divert the shot.

Murillo emerged from Corinthians in April 2023 after progressing through the club’s Under-17 and Under-20 ranks. He made 27 senior appearances and featured in the Campeonato Brasileiro, Copa do Brasil, Libertadores and Copa Sul-Americana.

He left Corinthians in August 2023 to join Nottingham Forest, where he remains.

The defender’s display against Arsenal was not a one-off, as he has drawn European attention since arriving in England, particularly around transfers. Recent coverage has centred on Manchester United studying a move for next season.
