Corinthians grant Memphis time off after World Cup exit, return date undecided | OneFootball

Memphis Depay will not rejoin Corinthians immediately, with the forward granted a short break after the Netherlands’ World Cup exit before returning to CT Dr. Joaquim Grava.

According to Meu Timao, no return date has been set, and the club will agree the timing with Memphis in the coming days.

His current contract runs until 31 July, so from Wednesday he enters the final month of his deal with the club.

Corinthians have three league games scheduled before then, against Remo on 23, Bahia on 26 and Athletico-PR on 30, all in the Campeonato Brasileiro.

For Memphis to play, the club must also regularise his status in the FPF system, where his deal is mistakenly shown as having ended in June.

Talks over a new agreement are ongoing, with an offer already made. The proposal involves a lower salary and a revised pay structure, and a decision is anticipated in the coming weeks.
