Corinthians host Barra at Neo Química Arena at 19:30 on Thursday in the second leg of the Copa do Brasil fifth phase. Coach Fernando Diniz will be without several players.

According to Meu Timao, defender João Pedro Tchoca is still recovering from inguinal hernia surgery carried out last week, while Hugo Farias is rehabbing after right knee meniscus reconstruction. In attack, Vitinho has ongoing hip pain and Kayke is ruled out for the season with a left ACL rupture.

Memphis Depay is likely to remain sidelined. He has been out for more than a month with a grade 2 injury to his right thigh, the club had hoped he would return for the Majestoso last Sunday, but he is not yet ready. He has spent two weeks in transition work and is close to a comeback.

Midfielder Charles is treating a right heel issue and has rejoined full training, ge.globo reports. He remains a doubt for tonight.

As this is only Corinthians’ second game in the competition, no one is on a disciplinary warning. In the first leg André Ramalho, Jesse Lingard and Matheus Pereira were booked, another caution would put them on notice for any potential last-16 tie.

Corinthians won the first meeting 1-0 at Ressacada on 21 April, Lingard scored. A draw or a win takes them through. If Barra win by one, it goes to penalties, victory by two or more sends the visitors through.
