Corinthians held its sixth public hearing on statute reform at Parque São Jorge, focused on the Deliberative Council. About 30 people attended, the smallest turnout.
Topics included ending new life members, reducing their number and a possible tweak to elected seats. Meu Timao reports that Romeu Tuma Júnior set 2 March for the Council vote and 28 or 29 March for a General Assembly.
Coletivo Voz Corinthiana backed functional and financial autonomy without ring-fenced budgets, and urged no new life members. Member Wesley Marinho called for recorded votes and minimum quorum, not acclamation.
Councillor Felipe Ezabella proposed 150 elected seats and no new life members until they fall to 50, keeping 200 councillors. He suggested honorary status with voice but no vote, and pushed stricter absence rules.
Ezabella also sought a late-January swearing-in, a broader electoral commission and autonomy guarantees. Cascone backed stopping new life members but opposed cutting elected seats, and favoured assurances rather than a fixed budget with sanctions.
Coletivo Família Corinthians urged scrapping life members now, or a gradual cut to 50 with an age cap of 70 or 75 and a shift to honorary status. Tuma said age limits could breach equal treatment, seeking an honourable solution.
Members will decide the final text, and Cyrillo Cavalheiro Neto also opposed new nominations, criticising former presidents’ status in the Council. Remaining hearings are on 26 and 29 January, 2 and 4 February, plus an extra on 9 February. A vote planned for 24 November was suspended.
