Corinthians hit with another transfer ban as financial crisis deepens | OneFootball

Corinthians have been hit with another transfer ban, leaving the club unable to register new players for six months.

According to Meu Timao, the punishment followed failure to pay the fifth instalment of an agreement with the Câmara Nacional de Resolução de Disputas, CNRD, at the CBF. The payment, around R$ 8 million, was due last Friday and there is no timetable for settlement.

It is the third sanction of this kind imposed on Corinthians in just two months.

Separately, FIFA has applied sanctions over delayed payments linked to the signings of José Martínez, Charles and Talles Magno.

The club’s finances continue to deteriorate, raising fresh doubts over whether the current management can regularise the accounts and re-enter the transfer market.
