Corinthians honour players from Brazil's Women's U17 World Cup squad

The Brazilian Women's Under-17 National Team achieved its best campaign in the World Cup for the category by finishing in fourth place in the tournament, which had its first edition in 2008. This year, the competition was held in Morocco. The Amarelinha fell in the semifinals after a defeat to North Korea, 2-0, and finished in fourth place after being surpassed by Mexico in penalties, with a score of 3-1 following a 1-1 draw in the 90 minutes.

Corinthians had five athletes representing the club in Amarelinha in the competition: goalkeeper Ana Morganti, defender Dany Pereira, midfielders Julia Faria and Pepê, and forward Dulce Maria. As a result, the Alvinegro paid tribute to the athletes with a club jersey – 2022 model – with each player's name and the inscription “Historic U-17 World Cup Morocco.”

All jerseys with the number 25, referencing the year the competition was held. In this edition of the Women's Under-17 World Cup, the Brazilian National Team finished second in Group A with four points. In the first phase, the Amarelinha defeated Morocco (3-0), drew with Costa Rica (1-1), and lost to Italy (4-3).

In the round of 16, Brazil advanced without trouble against China, winning 3-0. In the next phase, against Canada, a goalless draw in regular time and a victory by 5-4 in penalties. The main highlight of Amarelinha in the tournament was precisely the goalkeeper Ana Morganti, from Corinthians, who took over as the starter throughout the tournament and was decisive in the matches against China and Canada.
