ESPN reports that Corinthians are in advanced negotiations to sign Jesse Lingard on a contract to the end of the season. The 33-year-old has been without a club since the start of 2026 after two years at FC Seoul.
The club are working to complete the final details before the transfer window closes on 3 March.
A Manchester United academy graduate, Lingard can operate centrally or wide. He made 235 appearances for the club, scoring 35 goals with 21 assists, and won the Europa League, FA Cup, League Cup and Community Shield. He has 32 England caps and featured at the 2018 World Cup.
Between 2009 and 2022 he had loans at Leicester, Birmingham, Brighton, Derby and West Ham. He signed for Nottingham Forest in mid-2022, then joined FC Seoul in February 2024.
In South Korea he enjoyed the best run of his career, playing 66 games with 19 goals and 10 assists across two seasons. After leaving Seoul he attracted interest from Remo, though no deal was reached.
If he joins, he would reunite with Memphis Depay, a former Manchester United team-mate from 2015 to 2017, with 22 games together. Corinthians have already added Gabriel Paulista, Pedro Milans, Matheus Pereira, Allan, Zakaria Labyad and Kaio César this season, and confirmed the return of left-back Fabrizio Angileri.
