Corinthians part ways with four more youth players

Corinthians continues the process of restructuring its youth categories after an overload created in the department during the tenure of the ousted president Augusto Melo. Throughout this Tuesday (3), the club registered the termination of contracts with four youth players in the CBF's Daily Information Bulletin (BID).

They are: defender Pedro Neto (2008), right-back Lucas Souza (2007), left-back Vinícius Gomes (2008), and midfielder Arthur Moura (2007). The first two are 18 years old, the third 17, and the last 19. All of them were not part of the department's plans and were among the 29 names training separately.

Right-back Lucas Souza had, until now, completed his entire youth career at Corinthians. For the Under-17s, he played 33 matches. Last year, he became part of the Under-20 team but didn't have many opportunities, playing in only three games. His last match for Timãozinho was in July 2025, against Internacional, away, in the Brasileirão of the category.

Pedro Neto, on the other hand, started gaining attention in Corinthians' youth categories at the age of 14. He was even called up for the Brazilian Under-15 National Team. Wearing the Alvinegro jersey, he played 24 games for the Under-17 team. Later, he joined the Under-20 team but also didn't have much space, playing his last match for the club in mid-September, against Juventude, in the Brasileirão.

Arthur Moura, however, was signed by Corinthians in September 2024, still under the ousted president Augusto Melo, after a stint at Grêmio. At the Gaucho club, he went through the Under-15 and 17. At Parque São Jorge, he never even took the field and thus had his contract terminated. Vinicius Gomes joined Corinthians' youth in 2022 to play for the Under-15.

His last match for Timãozinho was in September, away, in a victory over Flamengo, in the Under-20 Brazilian Championship. Considering both Under-17 and Under-20, he played 40 games (26 for the younger team and 14 for the older). The quartet had professional contracts with Corinthians. Of these, Lucas Souza, Arthur Moura, and Vinicius Gomes had contracts until mid-2027. Pedro Neto had a contract until the end of 2028.
