Corinthians players join activities for Children's Day celebrations

This weekend, October 11 and 12, Children's Day is celebrated, a time when many children have the opportunity to receive gifts and enjoy moments with their families. Amidst the FIFA break, some Corinthians players took the chance to celebrate the occasion by visiting some of the more humble regions of São Paulo.

On Saturday (11), midfielder André and forward Gui Negão, both products of Corinthians' youth academy and recently promoted to the professional squad, visited the residents of the Cohab II community in Itaquera, East Zone of São Paulo. The two took several photos with the children present and also handed out autographs. At the event, local kids were gifted with 500 toys.

Then on Sunday, the 12th, forward Yuri Alberto visited the Hélio Augusto de Souza Foundation (FAHDS), located in São José dos Campos, his hometown in the interior of São Paulo. The social program is maintained by the city government. There, the Corinthians striker witnessed the excitement of the children as he arrived at the venue.

In material sent to Meu Timão, the number 9 spoke about the special occasion: “For me, it’s a privilege to be able to come back here and see so many faces shining with hope. I know how a simple gesture can be transformative in a child’s life. I thank the City Hall of São José for providing this space so I could be here in person. I thank God for giving me the health to do this, and I sincerely thank FUNDHAS and everyone involved. May we together help these children feel that they are important, because they are.”, he commented.

Finally, forward Talles Magno was in São Bernardo do Campo, in the ABC region of São Paulo, where he took part in an event in a community in Taboão da Serra. Estrela do Suisso, a local amateur team, hosted a party attended by more than 400 children. Like his teammates, Talles received plenty of affection from the local community.
