Corinthians register striker for Paulistão, main squad now has 25 players

Corinthians confirmed, this Wednesday (04), the registration of forward Kaio César for the Paulista Championship. With the inclusion of the player, the alvinegro club now has 25 athletes registered on List A of the state competition.

Recently signed, Kaio César has already made his debut wearing the Corinthians shirt in the Supercopa do Brasil. The forward came on in the second half of the 2-0 victory over Flamengo at the Mané Garrincha Stadium, and was directly involved in the second goal by providing an assist to Yuri Alberto.

The internal expectation is that the number 37 will start among the starters in the match against Capivariano, scheduled for this Thursday at 8:30 pm (Brasília time), at Neo Química Arena, as the state championship continues.

List A of the Paulista Championship allows up to 35 registered players, and Corinthians can still make up to four substitutions on this list starting from the quarterfinals. List B, on the other hand, has no player limit and is intended for homegrown players from the youth academy.

Currently, eight names are on the club’s List B. Among them are Breno Bidon, André Luiz, and Gui Negão, who do not occupy spots on the main list. Also included are the youngsters Luiz Gustavo Bahia, João Vitor Jacaré, and Gui Amorim, who played in the Copinha and were integrated into the squad by Dorival Júnior.

According to the Paulista Championship regulations, clubs can register new players up to two days before the eighth and final round of the group stage. One name that remains uncertain is José Martínez, who is still in Venezuela after the holiday period due to delays in issuing a new passport.

With Kaio César now regularized, Corinthians continues its pursuit of the Paulista Championship. After facing Capivariano, the team will have the classic against Palmeiras on Sunday (07), at 8:30 pm (Brasília time), in Itaquera, for the seventh round of the competition.
